JP Charlotte & SOCO Bar: A new restaurant and bar are joining the food scene this fall inside The Westin Charlotte.

CHARLOTTE, NC— JP Charlotte & SOCO Bar, opening September 29, 2015, is the first of a string of restaurants by John Portman & Associates. The New American restaurant with local flair will be helmed by Chef Jason Coperine, who brings his unique amalgam of innovative cuisine and approachable hospitality to the heart of uptown Charlotte.

The city’s upbeat energy provides a perfect backdrop for the restaurant’s lively and inviting environment, which is complemented by a carefully curated selection of world class wines. The newly redesigned restaurant space features an organic aesthetic characterized by refined textures and subtle hints towards the natural world including a stone wall and backlit onyx accents. The design aesthetic culminates to make JP Charlotte a welcoming space ideal for contemporary travelers and locals alike. JP Charlotte’s modern take on classic menu offerings includes Buttermilk Fried Yardbird, Giant Wild Shrimp and Grits, and Hand-Cut to Order Fries. A monthly wine and dining series will kick off this November

A casual counterpoint to the adjoining hotel, SOCO Bar is an ideal place to relax with friends over a drink or a bite to eat, or take in a local game. Named after the hotel’s South College Street location, SOCO Bar will serve light bar fare with their signature Chicken Lollypop and hand-crafted cocktails including The Cardinal Direction with Cardinal gin, lemon and rosemary.

Located on 601 South College Street, JP Charlotte will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner served seven days a week: Breakfast will be served Monday-Saturday 6am to 11am, Saturday-Sunday 6am to 12pm; Lunch and Dinner will be served Monday-Saturday 11am to 10pm, Saturday-Sunday 11am to 10pm.
